Seven New Wonders of the World
Human life dates back to 50,000 years ago. After the settled life, people started to become owners of several material things. This owner acquisition impulse could not be satiated only by the earning of food. They started to build in order to reach immortality. This is also how the Seven Wonders arose. Today, only one of the Seven Wonders of the World chosen by UNESCO (European Union Science and Culture) has survived. The risk of probable occupations from people of different civilizations shows the importance of the protection of the artworks. Many works of art have been victims of either the vandalism of the people or the power of the nature.
The New7Wonders organization team has launched a new campaign to choose existing wonders due to the absence of all the other works of the Seven Wonders of the World selected by UNESCO. First of all the wonders chosen by the team was not approved by UNESCO, because the choice was not fair. Later on, the new seven wonders of the world have been subjected to popular vote with the help of internet and mobile phone among the many works living today.This public’s choices were not accepted by UNESCO as the votes were biased. The seven new wonders of the world have been chosen from the following finalists:
