The reason why Angkor is so precious today is due to its architecture: Angkor is the world’s greatest city of the preindustrial era and several temples are present in that ancient city. Angkor withdrew from historical scene on 1431 because of Ayutthaya invaders. After this period the city of Angkor, except the Buddhist temple of Angkor, was abandoned.
